About the Korpus Typeface

There has always been a direct connection between developing the form of a letter and the techniques available for reproducing it. Changes in possible production modes have pointed to new directions in typeface design. The development of the typeface Korpus took inspiration from the study of inaccuracies, of a general kind, in the reproduction of letters. Of particular interest were typographic deficiencies found in specimen sheets and proof copies from the early 20th century.

Modern life is a continuous intelligence test

Thomas Feuerstein wrote an interesting text about sampling. Actually, sampling is not exactly the right topic for Binnenland's discourse but in one paragraph he uses the German term 'Korpuskeln'. This is a funny coincidence since the typeface we use for the puzzle is called 'Korpus'. Corpuscles are all these small elements you get by fragmentation of a whole unit. And these elements constitute the elementary starting point for creation or recreation of something new.

About the T-Star Typeface

About the T-Star Typeface

T-Star’s features include low-contrast, uniform line width, laterally flattened, round basic forms, as well as cut-back ascenders and descenders. It’s a plain, technical-style typeface that is slender in its proportions and highly economical when it comes to the space taken up by body text. Its appearance is marked by openness and individual characters show surprisingly unconventional features. Where predetermined patterns and systems proved unsatisfactory, shapes were interpreted intuitively, but stringently.

We are very pleased to announce the recently printed publication „The Giro Type Specimen“. Within the revision and the extension from the typeface T-Star up to version 3.0 we produced this small and 60gr. light publication.
It presents the wonderful story of the first cycle race in Italy (Giro d'Italia) and provides some background information about the typeface.

Binnenland. Now we are talking. The interview we did at 20Xplus in Munich last spring has gone online at Typeradio. Typeradio is a Micro FM broadcast, a MP3 internet radio stream and a podcast station. Typeradio was initiated in 2004 DBXL, LoveLiza and Underware.
